comic test

Description

right so lately i've been getting those creative urges to start a webcomic even though wow look at that timing but i just can't stop

sooo today i thought i'd test out methods of DOING this comic because i want it to look a certain way. and i think this worked out perfectly. The best part? the lines are all pencil--scanned in. because doing computer lineart BUGS THE CRAP OUT OF ME and takes a lot of time, so this should actually SAVE ME TIME, and still looks good. (though, it took a long time to actually do the pencil lines, buuuut...)

anyway, i need your help. As you can see there's two versions here, the original and one with an overlay. I'm undecided on which one to use, so if you could gimme a shout on which one you like best, that would be great. <3
just an fyi: i've gone with one that's a mixture between the two because it's been pretty even with the comics, and it's no hassle. so that's what i'll likely use. Thanks for all your input, though! And you're still welcome to say which one you prefer if you like.

also this is just a test, so this scene doesn't happen. YOU ARE NOT WANTED BY THE POLICE, MAIN CHARACTER. HOW DUMB.

Also, if you're curious for more sketches and concepts of this comic, you can check out the tumblr for it if you like.

annnnd that's it //scampers off to practice and judge r1 entries

wwwow this is a bit old for me to be commenting on it but I thought I might as well comment on your format for future uses' sake. (I also want to finally get around to looking at your gallery). I'm going to assume that you've studied comics before (Unlike me who has only ever read from books) since the layout we have here i really neat, dynamic, and still remains perfectly readable despite all the dramatic effects going on here. But the use of panel breaking here is my sole complaint. It becomes obtrusive and obscures the points of focus a tiny bit. I use a personal rule of thumb to never have any aspect of a panel breaking image overlap the point of focus of any of the other panels surrounding it. An example of this is how the rail this person is standing on is overlapping in said person in the last panel which obscures things slightly and causes a bit of confusion.
